Understand the market before you commit
Sumba is attracting growing attention from international buyers, villa developers, hospitality entrepreneurs and long-term land investors. The island offers a different type of opportunity from more mature markets: more space, lower density, distinctive landscapes and areas where infrastructure and tourism interest are still evolving.
However, an emerging market requires careful assessment. Not every plot is suitable for investment, and not every beautiful location is practical to develop. Before committing, buyers should understand the relationship between location, access, legal status, infrastructure, ownership structure and future use.
